WSOP 2008 Boards Sat (Just an idea)

    At various stages troughout the last year different ideas for WSOP satellites were spoken about & for numerous reasons most of these did not take place.

    I have a proposed approach to organise one of these for the WSOP 2008 which I think is workable.

    Basically my idea is to have a prepaid freezeout tournament with an affordable buyin that should appeal to most.

    So this is it,

    A number of proposed dates will be selected between October 07 & April 08.

    These dates will probably be Fridays with an option to return on Saturday.

    People interested then prepay and once the required number is reached we will run with the next available date. Two weeks notice would be given to players, so the number required would have to be reached two weeks prior to next available date for it to proceed.

    The buy-in would be 120 + 20.

    The stucture would probably be along the lines of 7500 starting stack with 30 min blinds.

    The tournament would be restricted to 100.

    The venue would be in the greater Clondalkin/Tallaght area.

    I would hope that if he is agreeable that the TD would be a curent poster to boards and very accomplished in this field.

    The payout : 1st 9,500, 2nd 850, 3rd 570, 4th 480, 5th 360 & 6th 240.

    In the event that people have prepaid and then cant turn up I would recommend that we have an alternate list for the day. If you cancel before the event and there is an alternate available you get your money back otherwise no refund.

    So am I mad or would people subscribe to this. Its just an idea, the bones of which ive posted above, I can add the rest if there is an interest.
