Unattended DVD recording from Sky Digital

    Hi there,

I've had a Philips DVDR70 dvd recorder for a few years now and I've always been able to record from sky digital by just using the sky program planner and selecting the autoview option (red button). When the program starts the sky box sends something down one of the scart pins which wakes up the dvd recorder and it records the program - hey presto. It's great when you go away for a few days and it's all waiting for you when you get back.

Anyway, I want to replace the recorder now and unattended recording is my number one feature requirement - except I have no way of finding out which dvd recorders support this. The guy in Dixons had never heard of it and the guy in Power City was the same. None of the online product specifications mention it. You would think that the latest Philips model would do it, but I looked at the manual and there was no mention.

So ... is there anyone out there doing this and can they give me the model number.

    Cheers in advance
