Send those monkeys back to the jungle

I was in the zoo the other day and was disturbed by the sight of monkeys being held captive; I think they should be shipped back to the jungle asap

Meh, Id imagine a huge amt of the zoos animals were born in the zoo (or a different zoo), if you have a few square feet of artifical forest and you have survived by a man throwing nuts at you (and kids throwing crisps) you mightnt be suited to junglist massifism

I agree with the OP - animal captivity is wrong. Apart from Monkeyfudge's army of helper monkeys. Their living conditions are excellent, so I hear.

even tho i am against animals in captivity, putting any animal back into the wild after living most of their life let alone all of it in a cage would be the equivilant of putting a 6 year old into the wild.

They wouldnt have a clue what to do. Even tho they would get training to live back in the wild, that usually only prooves sucessful when they are returning an animal to the wild. Primal instincts will only get them so far.

I think your forgetting that monkies, apes and anything like that usually travel in groups, and they have to be born into that group or accepted by the others to be part of it, and thats a very hard thing to achieve.

So again, im for it, but its a bad idea

im sure theres a reality tv show in putting two teams on two remote islands, one a team of 6 year olds humans, one team of 6 year old monkeys reared in captivity, see which of them survives.....in fairness it would be better than most of whats on tv *

I fúckin' love monkeys, when I get absurdly rich I'm going to have an army of them. Running around in their lil' nappies, attacking anyone that comes to my front door, and they all team together to make me lunch.

I believe we should be building a temple for them... We could make it as close as possible to their natural habitat but this would allow us to worship them from afar.

Zoo's can serve a purpose but i agree all animals should be free if they are "born free" but then if theres an overpopulation in a region would you agree with them competing for resources, starving and suffering or being culled? Humans think they are free but they are captives of their environment/culture unless they think differently to they culture/society/peers/families around them. Be a free thinker and you will be free. Im soon off to live in some paradise island/mountain/reigon and think about things, an existential journey if you will.:)

Anywho, the monkeys in the zoo are the business (who doesn't start on the left in the hope to loop around and get a second viewing in the afternoon?) and I think they should stay, but get rid of all the other boring/depressed/insane animals and give the monkeys the space left over.
