    Hi

    I'm so happy... I satelitted into a 11K tourney from a $12 satelitte.... then I came 2nd from about 130 for $2,200!!!! 15 minute levels so it wasn't just a crapshoot.

I had the guy all in when heads up as well, I had AQ, he had A9 but he hit his 9... that was as close as I came to winning... but on the other hand I also had some good luck obviously. 20 minute heads up battle.. stupidly I was crippled on an AJx flop, I had a J, he had AA.. I knew his betting pattern was different and suspicious but it turned out it was because he had great cards for a change.

I also made some great plays that kept me in... check raise bluff on one or two occasions, also ALL IN with air when I reasoned that the guy simply couldn't call... some of you may be saying I'm only a fish that got exceptionally lucky but I reckon I did play well while I also got my fair share of cards and good luck. Harringtons 2nd book has really helped me towards the end of tourneys...

This is my best result in about 18 months of playing, I have gradually improved, read books and forums, played low stakes... it was only about three weeks ago that I started playing SATS into big tourneys and it is going really well, I have got into 5 big tourneys from about 8 SATS and this is my best result... there are some great value SATS out there...

Sorry for the gloat.. it's just I'm very happy...

    Cheers
    Joe

edit: it was actually $2,200 not 2,400 as originally said.

I remembered as well that very early on in the second level I flopped the wrong end of a straight, I had 78 on a flop of 9 10 J... I raised to 300, guy went ALL IN, I called, I had to, he's in a lot of pots and has been seen to show down bluffs before.. He had a Q and his K hit, so I was down to 420 chips from 2500... really thought that was the end but I got AA soon after to get back to 840... and then I just recovered.... I had forgotten about that because it was a 4.75 hour long tourney, but usually something like that would kill me...
