Hi StandByMe try www.13434.ie for 10c per min calls anytime to mobiles (5c/min at weekends), but you've got to use the prefix 13434 or a Dublin access number before each call.

You could also switch to UTVTalk they give free local, national and UK off-peak calls, you just pay your line rental as normal. You can request them to block premium rate and mobile calls (there's a small monthly charge.) Then everyone in the house could agree to use their own mobile to make mobile calls. If you signed up with 13434 as well you could still make mobile calls using their service (but you don't have to tell anyone else that right? ;) ) You should see the mobile calls tumbling, and your phone bill!

That's a neat site, after looking at it can you edit your no. to include the prefix 13434 or the Dublin access number before each call?

Im with TalkTalk so this part i'd imagine this would appeal to me? for Non-Eircom/mobile user As the front page is only for Eircom users, i think?

But couldnt figure out this below:
    * 016 calls from mobiles may come out your inclusive free minutes or your mobile operator may charge separately for calls to 016 numbers depending on your operator and tariff plan; please check with your mobile operator for correct rates.

    Is that Bill-Pay?

I'm afraid 13434 don't describe how to use their service very well. They're trying to avoid saying this; if you use their service by calling the Dublin number 01 6850850 you'll pay standard call rates from your mobile or landline phone.

If you have inclusive minutes to landlines with your mobile then of course, this number will be covered under those. So yes you're right, inclusive minutes are usually only included with Bill Pay mobile phones. If you have a calling package including Irish landline calls with TalkTalk then this number's also included.

Just be aware that using 13434 involves dialing the 01 6850850 number, then listening to a voice prompt, then entering the number you want to dial, then there's a rate tariff announcement, and finally your call is connected. All that may be too onerous for some, and they may end up just dialling the number direct instead, especially if they're not paying the bill. :)

Not sure you could program in the 01 6850850 Dublin number on a speed dial with another number because there is voice prompt, and that causes a delay. Maybe you could program in a delay to allow for the prompt? No problem programming in the 13434 prefix with all your numbers if you're with Eircom, I'd say that would work just fine. As far as I know there's no initial voice prompt for Eircom customers using the 13434 prefix. I don't think that option is available to you because you're with TalkTalk.

FWIW, the 'P' button on most phones (if available) inserts a few second's delay during the dialling of the number.

I use it with the www.cheapchat.ie 1520 numbers to dial an Australian mobile the odd time. Works out about a tenner for an hour - would have to remortgage if dialling direct! :)
