Cork - semi final draw

    Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone found it strange that the draw for the All Ireland hurling semi final draw was made before any quarter final match was played? Surely this gives an unfair advantage to the two big teams in a time when there dominance is at a high. Because the draw was made now, Cork on account of playing Waterford (provincial winners are seeded apart) in the quarter final were seeded to avoid Kilkenny. As this was not the case in previous years - an open draw would have been if Waterford were knocked out therefore leaving the possibility of Cork v Kilkenny in the semi final.

I'm just slightly baffled at why the GAA did this? The quarter final draw should only have been made on Sunday last and not the semi final. Going into the Tipp match Cork knew that if they won they'd play Wexford in the quarter final but they also knew that if they lost they would avoid Kilkenny until the final. Just thinking...

I'm sure they're nearly equally worried by Waterford as they are by Kilkenny.
No disrespect to Wexford, but I'm sure Cork would prefer to play them than Waterford in the Quarters (haven't they lost to Waterford 3 times already this year?).
