Hello there, I'm looking for some suggestions for venues for a night out.
Basically, a couple of friends of mine are travelling down from Northern Ireland for a night out.
As the only Dub in the group, I've been left with the task of choosing where we go. Only trouble is I haven't been in town in years! So obviously I need help!!
I'll try narrow things down a bit; there are five of us ranging from 25-32 (all gents). We would be looking for somewhere lively, but our taste in music is more along the rock/indie/goth lines than pop/dance (2 of them used to be in a metal band in their youth)
Any suggestions for a good spot on a Friday/Saturday in or around the city centre?
    Thanks for your help!!

    Whelans/Carnival/Solas/Anseo/Bernard Shaw

All within glassing distance of each other and full of like aged indie 'kids'

Whelan's is closed for three months for renovations isn't it?

Pravda, Doyle's near Trinity or Bruxelles would be good spots. Bruxelles even has a dedicated Metal bar, beside a more Killers/Arctic Monkeys/'Indie' bar, both downstairs.

  • Eamonn Dorans on a saturday night is the place to be!
