    Hi,

    I'm male,6 foot 1, and 135 pounds:(.This is the what i'm putting in a blender after a workout

    2 eggs,two scoops of "N large",Milk,natural fruit juice(blueberry,acai,blackcurrant)

Can people post what they put in their blender...as i would like some more alternatives/what other foods are good....

Would it be nuts to take two of these shakes a day/too much protein?

    Thanks in advance

Ok I am going to ask what the rest of your diet is like first however if you can post up the timing and when you train that will also help.

Truthfully there are a few things I would consider wrong with that shake however if you want to gain weight we would be better looking at your diet as whole so I will reserve my suggestion for a better shake until we have all the info

Fry your eggs, you are not rocky balboa, it is not tasty and more benefical if they were cooked

hers a sample of what i may eat

8am- 1 bowl of shreddies or weightgain drink(as sometimes i don't feel like eating in morning)

    11am- some rasins or peanuts

1am- ham/cheese/lettuce sandwich and 1 pint of milk

    4 pm- cheese,crackers

    6 pm steak or chicken,mashed carrots,2 potatoe waffles,pitta bread

9pm(after workout) blender shake with eggs, protein powder etc

    {I would train 3 nights a week}

It's not what you put in the blender postworkout that matters as much as what you put in your mouth the rest of the day.

i think we're going in circles now. so ill finish by saying ive been taking raw eggs in protein shakes for 2 years and have never had a problem. but given the fact you cite health issues heres my disclaimer: don not eat your eggs raw.

also add to the fact that post workout you should generally avoid having fats as well.

OP post workout you are looking to get a combination of protein and simple carbs into you, ideally in a 1:2 ratio. Most people use a shake with protein (generally whey protein as it is a fast absorbing protein which is what you are looking for) post workout and then either use something like fruit, dextrose or glucose as the source of simple carbs.
Things to avoid in post workout out shake are things with fats and also things that will slow down the absorption of protein into your system so try and avoid things like milk which contains casein which is a slow release protein.

After this try and have another full meal before you go to bed i'd try and go with a low GI source and then a slow release protein so beef would be ideal. Other then that Hanley is spot on you generally need to be eating more the rest of the day especially breakfast

I imagine the majority of people prefer them cooked, I never see people ordering breakfast and asking for their eggs raw. I presume he would prefer eating them cooked. Maybe he does have an unusual palate though.

I am also presuming he thinks the raw eggs are as beneficial if not more beneficial when raw. Many have a "no pain no gain", mentality, so will suffer unnecessarily, thinking, "if it tastes good it must be bad for me, if it tastes bad it must be good.". You hear of people doing knuckle pushups for the same reasons. Others on threads here have "suffered" yoghurt or porridge, I always suggest porridge pancakes, and still people consider it a "cheat" just because it tastes nice!!
so ill finish by saying ive been taking raw eggs in protein shakes for 2 years and have never had a problem
That is fair enough, as long as you do not have to chug them down without need. You had no problems but they if they were cooked they would have been more benefical, i.e. more available protein.

There is no point creating a diet that you have to suffer through, you will not stick to it in the long term. There are plenty of foods you can find that are decent and tasty. If you really prefer the taste of raw eggs then stick with it, just be aware you may need to eat more to get the same protein requirment.
