    Hello All,

Off to Turkey for ten days in two weeks time, have two queries. Anyone whose been there is telling me I'm going at the hottest time of the year- are they exaggerating or can I get away with 3/4 length jeans and the like? I really, really hate shorts. How hot will it be?

Secondly, spending money. I've heard it's really cheap. Any ideas on how much to bring for ten days if we're getting most of our meals free?

    Thanks.

    Elmo

It's going to be roasting! Beer is the same price as home, but you can haggle for pretty much everything else, including food and clothing. In some places, you can even haggle for the drink outside a venue before you go in. If you're going for 10 days, you could do it on a grand, but bring yourself 1500 just to allow for some shopping too!

Thanks! Does that amount drop a lot if I don't drink? I'm the boring sober type.

Definitely elmyra. You could do it on 500 if you're not drinking, but remember to budget extra for activies, if you're going with Sunworld, or the ilk, there's many things you can do that are quite interesting during the day.

Thanks a million. It's a college trip so we have plans set out for us most days. I think I'll make it about 800 to be safe. Groan @ the heat...yuck!

Hi guys. Going to Turkey in Sept. Driving from Izmir to Kusadasi. Anyone know where I would get an online map of that area? Tried everywhere I could think of. Any help appreciated.

It's probably a bit obvious but Google Maps/ Earth? Although I don't know what the print out ability is like on it.

Tried all of them and nothing specific. Cant even get anything in Easons. I'd like something like on the AAIreland website and as detailed as possible. Dont want to get lost over there....

    Try www.viamichelin.com

I seem to remember everything being very well signposted when we took that journey a few years ago. Turkish drivers are mental though - be careful!
