    Hello all,
I've decided to go on holiday in Hvar Croatia. I was just wondering if anyone had been there and if they could give me information on it such as if it is expensive, attractions nearby, foreign exchange places around the place, that kind of thing. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated. :)

If you're going to Hvar town itself it's way more expensive in general than the rest of Croatia. There is a cool bar next to the place where the yachts moor, bit pretentious but it's nice to sit outside and drink (Even if beer is again far more expensive than other bars in croatia). There's also a massive outdoor nightclub on the other side of the town that gets packed during peak season. In terms of restaurants, it's mainly seafood (spaghetti with lobster is good) although there's a takeaway burger joint there too. Burgers are fairly rubbish though. If you haven't got accommodation there'll be plenty of people looking to rent you rooms. Don't go to the central reservations place, it's much more expensive.

Was there in June last year, went for 2 nights, stayed for 5 days. Loved it, was in the middle of the world cup as well. Real chilled out. arrived on a ferry (other side of the island), was going to get a bus into town but this woman came up to us offering accomodation for 30 euroi per night for 2. Was a 10 minute walk from the town which was grand, great views and near a secluded beach, which was savage.

Walk around the side streets up the hill in the village and you'll find lovely places to eat. I found it quiet cheap. You could get a litre of wine for 5/6 euro. Seafood lovely. Was in that bar Carpe Diem a couple of nights, it's nice not out of this world or anything. HOw long you thinkning of staying? I'd split it with Korcula or another island if it's a long trip.

Enjoy! Close to 40C at the mo...

Thinking of going to Croatia at the end of August, what's the nightlife like in Croatia????? Would it be pretty wild or tame?

Just got back from Hvar. The nightlife was amazing. Just hanging out at the wall and meeting new people then going to the nightclub thats open till 5. I would highly recommend visiting.
