Hi, recently got a creative zen vision because my ipod didn't charge anymore, so anyone know how can I transfer my music on itunes to windows media player? Thanks!

What format is your music in in iTunes? If it is MP3 then just get Windows Media Player to scan your hard drive for media. Simple as. Once that is done you can just uninstall iTunes if you wish. Presuming of course this is all on the same computer and you aren't looking to transfer over to a new one.

Hi, I'm in the same boat. Based on your post I've figured out that all my files are in AAC format. I've changed the setting to ensure that all further CDs I import into iTunes will be in mp3 format. Is there any way of/how do I change the existing files in my library from AAC to mp3?
    Thanks

Edit: It's ok, I found it in the Advanced tab

You can convert them alright but you will be compressing an already compressed file. You should expect a noticeable drop in sound quality if you do this.

Had Ipod/itunes. Downloaded songs from itunes, but these are automatically protected into AAC format/M4.
New MP3 player users windows media for file transfer. However, it does not recognise any protected AAC format files
So I need to convert the songs downloaded into Itunes to MP3.
Have googled it, and without paying for the software, all the trial files only provide 30 sec samples, or fail in the conversion.
    Can anyone help?
Sorry if someone asked this previously.

How many AAC format files are you talking about, roughly?

But I like Itunes for downloading, so I want to know if I can use it again...Otherwise I'll use another music provider who lets you download into MP3 format.

I dont have time to look through but try this thread. It has a list of usefull free software and links to where they can be downloaded.

I've looked into this a fair bit and the handiest way out of it is to burn a cd with your AAC tracks and then import that CD into whatever format you want.

You do lose a bit of sound quality, but it's not too bad and it's a lot easier to play around with other formats than AAC files :D

Tried that, but it advises the file is protected...My real problem seems to be unprotecting the song. The killer is I downloaded and paid for the file, but now can't put it onto my MP3 player.
Tried some of the software listed, but again the protected file seems to be causing most applications to not be able to load this file.
Message = iTunes Store files cannot be burned to an MP3 CD

Dunno if this still works on the latest itunes fairplay DRM, but you could give Hymn a whirl

you need to burn to an audio cd, not a mp3 cd, direct from itunes. (which was why i asked how many files are you talking about)

That was spot on and worked first time. Would never have figured that one out.
If only wife had trusted me/boards.ie - she went and bought the single in Golden Discs for EUR5, v's the 99 cent I paid to download it!
