    Hi,

Thanks in advance for all your help. I am looking to buy a new laptop, having read the stickies i have checked out all the sites there and found there is a lot to choose from. Basically im looking on advice what to buy. My limit is 1000 euros. I want a laptop for internet, office work, music, watching dvds, skype pretty much basic home use. My old computer is extremely slow so looking for something fast ideally dual core proccessor and im not sure on how much ram. So of u could help out i would be grateful. I have looked at lots of websites and the reason im asking here is that there is a lot out there and i dont want to buy something slow but i also dont want to buy something that is powerful and wont get used.

    Thanks,
    Rory

you could do worse than pop over to adverts.ie and see whats knockin about. For what you want you should pick up something for 700 to 800 euro. Try to get a big hard drive and 2gigs of RAM and a dual core proccesor you should be laughing with that type of spec.

There's a couple of newish laptops on there now(adverts.ie)

You could do worse than take a look at Apple's MacBook (starting at 1,049.00). Are you a student (educational discout available)? Are you VAT registered?

It does everything you've listed above, and more.
