    anything from 250 to 2500 !!

B&Q will have them for 250 odd but they are muck -mdf facia and not really worth the bother.
Fireplace dealer - avaerage about 1k for a good one - either solid wood or stone. and fitting is inculded in price.
the really expensive ones are ok but usually over the top -ornate granite and very big. (thats just my opinion)

there's plenty of websites out there.
and shop around. alot of places in meath/kildare etc will fit in dublin (if thats where you are)

ask about a new fireback when fitting a new fireplace. and measure the fireback before yu go.
they are usually a 16" opening.
    k

Have a look at the following sites for ideas and guide prices

    http://www.sackclothandashes.ie/
    http://fireplacesdirect.ie/

Not associated with either company, just in the same boat.
    Hope this helps

Are you talking traditional, or gas? If gas, some companies do special offers.
