Some recent evening/night shots from around Waterford. Not intended to be a series.

Images are clickable to see on a larger scale with a black background.

I particularly like these - because of the strong light at the end of the pier, I could concentrate on exposing for the sky, and let the other light do the rest. Both shot at 3200 iso, for effect moreso than a technical reason, & the exposure brought up again in Lightroom.

    The Old Railroads:

Out near the old Red Iron bridge between Waterford & Kilkenny...There's a load of old bits and pieces from railway stations & trains there. It's being redeveloped shortly. I like the second one quite a bit, reminds me of canons... or at least, something defiant of it's age.

    Dunmore East:

The first one is part of an old office block in Dunmore East harbour, don't know if it's still used. I love the shadows on the stairs in it - was the main reason I took the photo. It was taken at night, about half 10 - 11 I think, so there was a bit of fancy photoshop work done on the sky & saturation in general. The weather station, I love. It's a tiny building on a cliff, facing the weather for god only knows how many years. The light is really powerful. This was taken about half an hour before the other shot & I wanted to emphise the power of the light illuminating all the grass etc...

Anyways... Let me know what you think.

The second one really caught my eye.
Love the sense of serenity, on the fringe of a busy city!

ah the old Red Iron Bridge...I like the first Dunmore East one, what time did U take that shot? It's quite difficult to find that area so quiet. One from the tall wall would have been nice also, either looking across to the lighthouse or over the harbour.

I can't see them here, but I suppose that I've seen them already :-)
I like the way you work!
