I have a contact in Tesco Shannon and this is down from €599 to €299. They also have a DM TECH 17" LCD/DVD TV down from €500 to €249. Both have built in DVD players.

Oooh a brand I've never heard of... I bet those TVs are quality.
Just because they've allegedly knocked hundreds off the price (which they could easily have picked out of their arse in the first place), that still doesn't mean it's a good deal.
If it was worth €599, they'd be selling it for €599... don't confuse price with worth.
I've fallen for the old massively-reduced obscure-brand electronics supermarket crap before... never again.
I'll come back when they're doing some massively reduced Sony Bravias... like that's gonna happen, pff.

A lot of us "fell" for the €399, 32" Tesco TV in January - and that's gone down as one the all-time great Bargain Alerts.
On the flip side I've heard a lot of people ranting about their Phillips 'brand' TVs.

This unit is not wide screen. Wide screen is the only way to go. Pass.

  • bought one of these (17") and the bulit in DVD player is DivX compatible...very nice indeed.
