file edit not working

    im relatively new to mac

    alll of a sudden yesterday i cant edit file names any more - when i click on the file name it gains focus alright but i cant edit it

    anyone please ??

    1. Select the file.
    2. Press Apple-I
    3. Make sure "Locked" is unticked.
