    Hi all

I'm getting married in Dublin in late November and I'm looking for someone to photograph our wedding. We're trying to keep costs down and I figure there's loads of you guys on here who are more than capable of doing this kind of work for a reasonable price.

It'll be a small affair (< 50). I'm not too bothered about an album or loads of post-processing, just need someone with pro gear and experience to take some pro shots for us. If any of you are interested, can you please get back to me and we can discuss further. I'll probably need a quote and some examples of your work.

(Mods - if this is inappropriate for this forum, can you please move to a suitable location).

    Thanks,
    A.

I wouldn't mind tagging along. I've done 1 before, and am certainly looking to do some more.

This is a wedding I did in March... link

Free? Hmm.. Wonder what the markup on prints is like if the service is free... John, you seem like an impartial observer who is in no way connected to the operation, what do you think? :D

dont know if the op was looking for the more pro type service, theres' lots mentioned in weddings.ie and similar sites. Also the mods might take down your post because it's advertising which i think you need to pay for.

ah ya beat me to it lol

Free Weddings actually work out at nearly €900 , ( im basing this on a standard 40 sheet album , although no album would be included for the above price )

The price list is available on the site , unless you want matte photos , ( im my experience , not many people do ) then its about 23 euro for each 8 x 10 , making 40 of these come to 920 .

Also no formal shots , all reportage style , which is not everyones cup of tea and does not please the Mums and Dads , ( who always want formal shots of the Bride and Groom with the proud parents ).

Ive done a few weddings , one reportage ( a mix of formal in there too ) and most of the rest done the traditional formal way.
I am not a professional wedding photographer , ( but seriously thinking about it) , so I have not charged anyone anything like the above , my average sell is for €800 and that includes a leather bound album in a briefcase.

I still made money on that by the way , approx 20% profit. So " freeweddings" is not really free , unless 72dpi internet shots will do !

Gee whizz, I didn't see that one coming!

John; all do respect but even though you do free weddings, we don't do free advertising. If you want to advertise your services, contact the admins for a quote. Had you been upfront from the beginning and said it was your operation, I may have gone a bit easier on it.

Why not make the day a Boards photo meet you can have lots of photographers for "free". The best way to keep cost down is don't do it:D
