Actress Elisha Cuthbert is backing plans for a film version of the hit TV show 24, but only if her character plays a bigger part.

The Canadian actress currently plays Kim Bauer, daughter of Kiefer Sutherland's agent Jack Bauer of the Counter Terrorist Unit in Los Angeles, and is keen to reprise the role on the big screen.

However, she's convinced the movie would be much better if producers let her share some of the action with her busy on-screen dad.

She says: "There's definitely room for (a movie). But it depends on whether or not Kiefer can take it any more! The poor guy's been hacking away at Jack Bauer for years. If he's into it, it'll be great, because everything he does is awesome.

"People love to watch my character Kim, but she's also a bit of a spanner in the works and I wouldn't want her to be that. Three years ago I wanted her to be Jack's partner and kick a**, but to the producers it was like, 'We've got to be realistic about this.' But if the movie comes round and it works to have her there, then I'd love to play her again."

My God, let's be thankful that didn't happen, I would have switched off straight away!
I can understand why she's so keen to be in the movie, her career hasn't exactly blossomed since she left the show.

I can see it now. Cougars across America come together to overthrow the White House. With Kim acting as bait, Jack saves the day. Might have been better than Day 6 though...

God I hope she's not got a big part, she's a good actress but not in 24. The only reason I think she may get a big part is for sex appeal.

btw - I've read nothing about 24 in months, whats the craic with the film and season 7 is there going to be a film or another season, release dates?

Film seems to have stalled- Looks like if its gonna happen, it will be after the show ends, or at least not for another few years.

Season 7 was due to start Feb[I think?] next year but has been delayed for an unspeficated lenght of time due to the writers strike.If it drags on a very long time, theres a chance season 7 wont air until 2009.

To be honest, I always thought her character was a waste of space. She offered very little. It always seemed that when Jack was getting somewhere with the problem, Kim would be in some sort of trouble! Glad they got rid!

i have a question but no need to start a thread? What did President Palmer give up to the Chinese to get Jack Bauer back? I can't remember and it'd driving me mad.

A Russian circuit board. The Chinese would use it to reverse engineer Russian technology afair.

Are you sure? I thought we never found out what "high price" Palmer paid the Chinese. Why would Cheng have had to go to all the trouble at the end of the day if Palmer had agreed to hand over the circuit board?

Hmmm, possibly. Thinking about again the circuit board was to secure Audrey's release. Could do with one of those recap videos.

There'll probably be a recap before the 2 hour special. I remembering thinking that the price for Jack's release was still a mystery at the end of Day 6, another unsatisfying aspect of the season!
