http://www.anchuirt-hotel.ie/ really is a lovely hotel, but you will need to get in now for 2009.
only heard good things about it, was never at a wedding there, but ate there a few times and it was lovely. nice location too.

What part of donegal are you gettin married in? It's a big county you know!

Above is a link to Harvey's Point....stunning hotel set on Lough Eske, a few mins outside Donegal Town.

It's expensive but worth it IMO...u would really want to get ringing them tho as they're very popular for weddings.

Also check out The Central Hotel and The Abbey Hotel situated on the Diamond in Donegal Town or The Millpark Hotel also a few mins outside the town.

All of the above hotels host wonderful weddings and it's definately worth checking them all out....happy wedding planning!

First of all Congrats to you. West Donegal is a lovely spot, great for a wedding, so much so that I tied the knot up there myself, many moons ago.

An Chuirt in Gweedore is very nice from the location and facilities point of view, but I haven't been to a wedding there yet either. I would have had my reception there, but their reception room was still at the planning stage back then.

Another couple of options that I'd be familiar with for weddings in the North West area include Ostan Loch Altan in Gortahork, which seems to run one or two weddings per week all summer, and Ostan Gweedore which has a fairly spectacular location on Gweedore Bay, nice if you get the weather.

If you have friends or family up there I would get some recommendations from them too.

I would imagine that these hotels are filling up rapidly for 2009 so you'd want to get your skates on, particularly if you want a Saturday of a bank holiday weekend - if many of your guests are travelling they will appreciate an extra day, as it's quite a trip to get up there.
