There seems to be quite a lot of threads appearing with people asking how to fix their malfunctioning guns.I was thinking of confining them all to one stuck thread similar to the retailer one. Not only does it clean the place up a bit, it also puts all the information in one place so we don't have to keep saying the same thing over.

Also, it gives Kdouglas less work to do :D

The only downside is it's another sticky. Although, the Ground Zero weekender one is only temp, so it could replace that.

    So, what say ye?

im for it...it would be nice to have one place for panic attacks...it might be a bit tricky to follow though??

maybe it would be better to have a subforum over on iaa website when its back online...

ye it will be more of a spring clean for the airsoft repair threads

I'd suggest a subforum tbh. It would be a pain to go through a whole thread trying to find something relevant to your kit. A "Troubleshooting & Maintenance" forum with subjects for everyones AEG, GBB's, Springers would be preferable. Then again there are a fair few resources out there already.

    :p

I'd go with a sub-forum if anything....but break it down into several stickies...1 for upgrade issues...1 for magazine/feeding issues.....one for accessories etc.

agree with the subforum idea, but i dont think "the powers that be" here on boards are going to continue giving us more subforums everytime we ask for it, i think we're starting to come to a point where we're outgrowing boards.ie and need to start looking at using the iaa forum when it comes back...

although the IAA forum really would be better if it was upgraded to vBulletin, the current/previous software phpbb2 just isnt as nice (from all perspectives) tbh...

sub forum is a good idea, might make more sense on the IAA site, but link it in a sticky here maybe?

the only problem with having a forum on the IAA website for technical stuff is it just doesnt get as much traffic, i know i personally check boards at least once a day, but the IAA website (when the forum was up) only once every 2/3 days...

true, i don't think i've checked it in weeks

I'd be all for having a section like that over on the IAA website. But boards.ie needs one too. Even if that forum really takes off, I can't see this one dying out any time soon.

Subforum would be great. Gandalf and Lemming, you two have been around here a while, reckon it would be possible? Or do the admins have bigger issues to be thinking about?

How about un stickify say the "experiencs of airsoft retailers" and Airsoft retailers" and make one sticky with links to both threads inside. And/or merge the "forum charter" with the "1 Joule limit/newbies" thread.
A subforum would be alot better but who knows if the bossmen want to give us another Subforum seen as the adverts one is there.

Oisin, I see no reason as to why they would say no. Put a request up on the mod forum and I'll give it my support.

The problem with mergers like that is people are less likely to use them the more you have to click to get them.

The experiences with airsoft retailers thread gets a lot of use. So I'm going to leave that where it is.
The charter really needs to be on its own. Subforum is the best idea so far.

Other option is to leave it as is. It just means a lot of threads get pushed off the main page due to new people having such problems and questions.

    There aint that many stickys.

Don't see any problem with a new one.

What I would suggest for the sub forum is a thread per marker. So for example one for the CYMA AK74 (031 & 031a) Models, one for a TM VSR10 etc etc.

I think this is an excellent idea anw would support it fully:D

sounds like a good idea, just make it part of the charter that things must be posted that way, and preferably thread title's would be formatted all the same, so we'd end up with a nice troubleshooting section which would look very nice :D

Of course an important part of the sub forum is having kdouglas on call 24x7 for assistance :D

I really have to figure out how to disconnect that thing...

One thread per gun is probably the best way to do it alright. Although, they'll be created as the forum goes along. There's no way I'm even going to attempt to make a thread for every airsoft in existence :D
