Tallaght rod and gun do plastic foam lined rifle carry cases for about 60 euro.

    Here's a pic of mine...

maplin on jervis street, dublin have a great deal at the moment. Metal flight cases (bigger than a brief case) with foam inside to cut out for only €25. It is a proper looking job.

Dont waste your money on one of those eHobby cases - mine lasted 3 weeks before the zips fell to pieces.

On the lookout for a good replacement myself.

This is a carry case I bought In baumans pet/fishing/hardware/hunting shop.
It cost 120E, has 2 combination locks and one key lock. The base is approx 3inches thick and the lid is around one inch. There is foam in the base which is 2.5 inches thick. You need to mark out the shape of your gun in this and cut down approx 1 inch with a hot knife. I used a 100mm stanely type blade which I heated on a hob to cut out the shape. I can fit my sr16 (m4) in it but I need to remove the aimpoint. I have made holes for other accessories eg. reddot, handle and spare rail.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me via PM or here.

I've got a 42" extendible soft case from eHobby tha tI use to transport my (and Gandalf's) kit around, but it's not suitable for any type of transport where it risks possibly getting knocked around.

Great for carrying stuff around conveniently, loading into your car, or through town. Coach journey or air-travel ... forget it.

Where is baumans? And would that case fit an AUG (and maybe a USP Compact) ?

Yeah, thats the one I have.
It didnt get any rough treatment...just into the boot of the car, out to skirmish, and back in again. Maybe I just got a dud.

I have a smaller case than that which fits the AK74, unfortunately the USR11 is just a bit longer.

Lemming Baumans is in Stillorgan around the corner from the main shopping centre.

It is behind Stillorgan shopping centre near the blood donar clinic and Oatlands school.

It would proably fit your AUG fine. Bring it down and check if it fits. Warn the guy there before you bring it in! I brought mine in to check if fits told him what it was ect... and he was still taken aback when he saw it.

Cheers for the warning. So ... walking in and producing a 'pig' wouldn't be a good idea then? ;)

Its a folding stock AK and im not sure of the size but what you described is pretty much what he's after.
Lemming how are the zips on the one from ehobby, maybe Shiva got a dud.

Mine seems ok so far, give me another month or two and I'd be able to give you a reliable answer. It's survived two trips with an AUG, MP44, Ammo, Clips, oil, etc. etc. in it whilst being loaded into a car boot with other bags and assorted bits and pieces so far.

mm ..... that sounds like pig-carrying material. But ... it's just *begging* to be carried in its USMC 7.62mm case ... the dilemma!!

I can give you directions if you tell me where you're coming from. To give you a general idea, do you know the Cuckoos Nest, The National Basketball Arena or Tymon Park in Tallaght? It's next door to the Cuckoos Nest and opposite Tymon Park and right opposite the entrance to the National Basketball Arena. The road itself is off the greenhills road.
