I am planning on starting some swimming classes soon and was wondering if anybody has any info or recommendations on places that teach swimming classes. I work in Tallaght so near there would be handy, but depending on the times I can travel. There is a place in Tallaght, but the next classes don't start until Sept, so I hoping for something a bit sooner. Cheers.

Odysseus, If you can't sort out anything more convenient, I'm happy to teach you in the city centre. Are you a complete beginner?

Cheers thanks for that Hunnymonster, I will get back to you. I can manage about 10 feet!!! However, I have no fear of water or anything like that. When I read the stuff about the classes in Tallaght and seen "beginners [Shallow End]" I just went NOOOOOOOO!!!! I had images of being handed water wings

naw, it's just easier for instructors with a class of beginners to keep them in the shallow end. One-on-one you go straight in at the deep end. In a first lesson a lot of the work would be with a float or pull bouy to get a feel for the water.

tis in stillorgan behind the kilmacud crokes pitches, they do teaching courses especially for adults, tho they are at set times and may be booked out or may not start til sept also.
