Can anyone explain what is the current situation with Titleist drivers, which models are current/latest, when were they introduced, what sort of prices are they going for from the likes of Mcguirks.

Reason I ask is I was looking at the 905T which I thought was an older model that had been superceded so I was hoping it'd be cheapish. However Premier golf had a price tag of 449 euros on it. IIRC the newer 907 D2 was the same price.

The D1 and D2 are the latest releases...the 905R is an older model and can be bought for $200 in the US..as can the 905S...I'm not sure where the 905T fits into this as its not listed on the titleist site as a current model...I thinks its actually older than the R and S versions....anyway you can get a mint 905T on ebay for less than $100

just found this on titty website...its a 2006 club
The 905T™ is a Tour-proven larger profile driver that provides an optimal combination of ball speed, launch and spin for longer tee shots with a penetrating downrange trajectory. Due to its larger front-to-back profile and resulting increased dynamic loft, the 905T is a versatile driver with high launch and moderate to low spin characteristics. The better player will prefer its optimum ball flight, while the aspiring player will benefit from the increased size and playability.

I'd perhaps look elsewhere than Premier golf. The lads in the shop are sound an dvery knowledgable, but the stuff in it is ridiculously over-priced. I've been in it a few times out of curiosity, but never bought a thing as the prices are a joke. I have tried a few clubs out there and then went and bought them elsewhere for much less.

Try American Golf in Tallaght (Next to the Square). They match any price at McGuirks or any of the rest. Far better value.

I currently have the 905R model (10.5 deg). No plans to change it as I'm hitting it very well at the moment. (Came 2nd in an invitation fourball this evening in Dun Laoghaire with 45 pts. DL is a decent track, albeit on the short side.) The 905R was retailing at €399 in May 2006, but I got it for €350 at the time through a friend.

recently got the 975k. And after only a few rounds using it im hiting it like nothing else before. Titeleist have always made great drivers as I was an avid fan of the 975jvs( before it broke)

I find Titleist drivers to give a lot more penetrating flight then the rest, which i think is better.

Use a 905T myself and love it!
Check for second hand bargains, I picked up a mint 905T last summer for €120 in the Spawell Golfworks, with matching 13.5° and 18.5° fairway woods for €60 each. The 905T and R should be dropping in price with the release of the D1 and D2 models. I would expect to pick one up for no more than €250 new.

Try to hit one before you buy, as Titleist tend to have a slightly different definition of loft and you may find a 9° Titleist driver feels like a 10° Ping or TaylorMade. I play off 16 with a medium to fast swing, and manage hit an 8.5° 905T with no problems.

And yes, as is obligatory in all stories from the Spawell, I did hit half a dozen balls over the back fence before buying the driver.

Thanks for that lads, I have hit a 905T already (9.5 degree, stiff grafalloy) and loved it. I have a very fast swing and this driver felt more solid than others I've tried.
