MAC issue

    Hi,

    I have recently just got a mac from work and will be using it in my studio.
    I have one problem though.

    I got OS 9.2 installed onto it.
    Trying to get OS X on it now and im getting errors everywhere.

    When i try to upgrade to 10.0.3 It tells me to restart.
    I do, then i get the gray screen with the happy mac smiley face.
    Coloured wheel spinning up top left then the smiley mac changes to a broken folder Icon.

    This is the exact same with 10.1

    I then tried to upgrade to Tiger.

    It tells me to restart also .... I do

    Then i get like a dump screen and i have to power down.


    Its a Powermac G4 with 2048 MB of ram in it

    Any help would be greatly apreciated.
    (Total MAC virgin)

    You need to give more details. Exactly how far in the installation are you getting? Is 9.2 fully up-to-date? You may need to update your firmware first. Read all the instructions on the 10.0.3 disc.

    Just fixed it.

    Turns out the discs i was using were faulty.

    So got me a copy of Tiger.
    Working great now
