    Hi,

What is the difference between a slot 1 and slot 2 device please other than where you put them?!

Do they do the same things or have they different functions? which is best for which application etc?

Also with an R4 card I know you need some type of SD card
    (1) is 2Gb the largest capacity available and
    (2) if there is higher where can I get it?
    (3) if I get a Cyclo Evolution instead of an R4 do I also need an SD type card?
    (4) If so what's it called and where can I get it?
    (5) Is there really a 32Gb for the Cyclo Evolution?

I know the Cyclo Micro and Mini cards are slot 2 but what's the difference between them?

Thanks for all the info so far. Love the boards here.
    Jo.

Cheapest SD cards that I have found are |HERE|

Yes you can get bigger than 2gb but expect to pay big bucks for it tbh.

Slot 1 devices cannot run GBA games. Slot 2 devices can.

Slot 1 devices generally have better DS games support.

Slot 1 devices generally have better homebrew support.

I'm unsure about specific models of Cyclo Evolution so I'll leave that to someone else.

    Anymore questions? Ask away :D

A Slot 2 device can run Gameboy Advance games. A Slot 1 device can't.

Homebrew support is a lot better on Slot 1 devices than Slot 2 devices.

Yes, you need a micro SD card as a memory source for most of the devices. Some have built in flash memory but they are more expensive and you are unable to upgrade or change memory cards.

Yes, you can get 2gb micro SD cards and the cheapest site for memory that I have found is |HERE|

Thanks a mill. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel!? (Or maybe not!)
Do these Sd go into the R4 only?
Can you have 1 R4 card and use lots of Sd cards in it?
Do these sds go in the M3 perfect and Cyclo also?
Where do you suggest I get an R4 or Cyclo?
You really are a mine of information which is a lot better than being a mine of questions!

What's a good slot 2 card? Like one that'd fit in nicely into a DS Lite? or otherwise.. not too fussed.. just want something cheap to play gba.. which fits in snuggly into the lite..

    Hi Glazun,
As you can probably tell from my text I don't know a whole lot aabou what the different slot devvices do however on my trawling of the boards and the websites recommended I have found 22 sites selling slot 2 cards
    www.divineo.com
    www.dealextreme.com
    Hope this helps you out.

@ Glazun, I have an EZLiteIV which is pretty decent.

It sticks out about 2mm at the bottom but it's fine. It doesn't impede it or anything like.

Nearly all GBA and DS roms run without any problems. Anymore questions, feel free to pm me.

The SD cards go into the R4 yes but I'm unsure what you mean by only. Other devices (slot 1 and slot 2) use Micro SD cards for memory. Not just the R4

Yes, you can easily switch SD cards. You could have one for say, media and one only for games or whatever (Or you could have both with Media and games if you wanted). You can switch SD cards very easily as the R4 has a release mechanism much like the way a DS game fits into the DS. (The clicky springy yolk)

Yes these SD cards go into the M3 perfect and Cyclo.

I would suggest an R4 tbh as it seems to have a bigger user base which is always handy in time of need. My friend has one and he can easily use it for Roms and the homebrew support is pretty good too. The user interface is pretty nifty too.

Again, feel free to pm me if you have any more questions or anything...

I was thinking of doing something similar and naturally i find a thread on boards. Bless. One of the threads on the board in your sig (Lupe?): http://www.wiffy.ie/forums/ds-modding/3775-cyclods-evolution-r4-killer.html
goes a long way convincing me to go for a CycloEvo (especially the microSDHC part) though the more support the better for these kinds of things... I don't care for GBA support it's no big deal but i would like ultimate compatibility with future releases etc....
