Most Irish pubs, both in town and in suburbs will be showing GAA Sunday morning.

Both Newbury Street and Boylston street have great restaurants and menus to suit all tastes and pockets. A trip to Faneuil Hall / Waterfront area is a must for some good fish and a nice evening. Hanover Street has lots of good Italians.
There is lots to see and do. Take an Old Town Trolley or Duck Tour on your first day, it will help you orientate yourselves and its fun. Trolley is best, as its hop on/off.

Just back two weeks ago. Have to say, I prefer the Duck Tour and the Bostonians we were visiting recommended that over the Trolley.

Teh wimmin will enjoy the shopping on Newbury Street and Downtown Crossing. Check out Filene's Basement for some serious bargains. Macy's is great too, particularly if you present your passport at the Customer Services desk in the Basement, where you'll get a card which entitles you to 11% off your purchases!

There's a great restaurant on Newbury called Stephanie's. Very busy place but it's quite nice and has a real buzz about it.

The Prudential Centre is a must. Dusk is the best time to go as you get the see the city lights. There is also a bar and restaurant at the top where you can go for a drink (probably just the one though as its a bit expensive).

There's also an aquarium near quincy market which is quite good.

The Cheers bar, but its a bit touristy and nothing like the TV show inside.

Definitely go on the Duck Tour just to see the city but you need to book tickets early which you can get at the bottom of the Prudential Centre.

South Boston or Southie as Bostonians call it is full of Irish and Irish Americans, it's only 10 mins from Downtown Crossing on the Metro, The Blackthorn Bar in Southie will show the GAA.some bloke from Clare or thereabouts behind the bar when i was there, all very friendly.

i recommend Faneuil Hall, http://www.faneuilhallmarketplace.com/index.html excellent place to dine out, and a must visit is the New England Aquarium,do the freedom trail as well, lots to see and do, Boston is a great city.

http://www.bostonparkplaza.com/ comes highly recommended in case you need a hotel, around the corner from the lovely Boston Common...have fun.

Hit the Science Museum, good for learnd-ing.

Some great restaurants etc on Hanover Street on the North End. Some great bars in Cambridge and Brookline (esp a place called Matt Murphy's)
If you're feeling adventurous, head skydiving in Dover, NH. Or whale-watching. which leaves from the Aquarium

Oh Yeah downtown Boston you've got TJ Maxx (they call it TJ instead of TK)far far better than what you've got here, i picked up a brand new Polo Ralph Lauren polo shirt for $29, the exact same ones here cost €75 in Brown Thomas, some great deals on Polo Ralph Lauren, DKNY and Calvin Klein, etc no doubt the ladys will thank you for ity as well, they'll probably stay there the day when you and the lads can go to the pub.:D

also cambridgeside mall is a great shopping area bout 5 minutes in a taxi from boston common.

magianos on boylston street is a good italian resturant and there's an irish bar - name eludes me atm - that's beside the boston park plaza hotel - also on boylston st - that should definitely show the GAA.

museem of science is quite cool too which is in cambridge too i think and near to kenmare T stop.

you use to be able to go up the john hancock building - tallest in boston - but since 9/11 they've stopped it so don't waste your time if you had this planned.

That'll be MJ O Connor's, i stayed in the Park Plaza and used to drink in O Connors, not a bad bar a bit plastic paddy type but everyone really friendly, best to go to Southie for real Irish bars although there are some good ones downtown as well.

aye i haven't been in many bars in boston as this year was the first time i was over and was of legal age  and was on a flying visit.

next time though, i shall make more time :p

*EDIT* dunno if it's still there but there's a tiny irish bar called "The Littlest Bar" 47 Province St that's ceiling is fecking so low that if you're of any decent height you have to crouch to get into, it was an experience i must say, i was 15 when i went in and head was close to the ceiling and i'm only 5foot 10".
