There is no website but here are the details taken from The Southern Star newspaper....
    CHARITY CYCLE
The fourth annual West Cork Emergency Services 50-mile Cycle will take place tomorrow week, Saturday, July 14 next. Registration is at 10am and it will follow the same route as last year. Starting from Skibbereen Fire Station, cyclists will travel to Dunmanway and then on to Clonakilty and back again to Skibbereen. Last year’s record-breaking event raised over 59,000 for charity. The two main charities set to benefit from this year’s cycle include Cork ARC Cancer Support Centre and Multiple Sclerosis West Cork. Anyone wishing to get further details or sponsorship cards (minimum to be raised is ?120 per cyclist) may contact one of the following organisers: Garry Minihane 086-8328394, Jim Keane 086-3217901, Tony Walsh 086-0609584 or George Lane 087-1240987.

Do you think you'd make it along?
I was there last year and was fantastic. Funny, on a slightly different note, the cycle passes all the towns in the news at the moment with the courts and drugs haul

There was guy last year who tought the same (50 miles a lot for me however!) so he cycled from Clonakilty to Skibb to the starting point then at the end himsled and 2 others cycled back to Clonakilty after the cycle, that could be a longer option ;)

Fair point I suppose, Might be something to do with covering the costs, they had a free BBQ and beers/drinks last year after the cycle, At each stop refreshments are provided.

    Here follows an update...
    CHARITY CYCLE
The fourth annual West Cork Emergency Services 50-mile Cycle will take place this Saturday and registration is at 10am sharp at Skibbereen Fire Station. Starting at eleven, cyclists will follow the same route as last year, travelling to Dunmanway and then on to Clonakilty and back again to Skibbereen. There will be refreshment breaks in both Dunmanway and Clon and the cycle is due back in Skibbereen around 5pm for a barbecue and a social night later. It is anticipated that the stop in Clonakilty GAA Pavilion will be at around 2.15 and the cyclists will take off again through the town centre at 3pm. Last year’s record-breaking event raised over §59,000 for charity. The two main charities set to benefit from this year’s cycle include Cork ARC Cancer Support Centre and Multiple Sclerosis West Cork, while contributions will also be made to St. Killian’s School and to Skibbereen Community Playschool. Minimum sponsorship to be raised by each cyclist is §120 and sponsorship cards and monies collected must be handed in at the time of registration, 10 o’clock this Saturday morning, at Skibbereen Fire Station.

It's booked up for this year. Is there any way of tagging along?

Anyone else doing this? looking forward to cyling in Gods own country tomorrow. fair enough the food was savage on the ROK last weekend but Kerry will never equal Cork for craic music hurling and beauty. If God had been Irish he'd have wanted to be a Corkman.

Headed down to this early yesterday morning. Due to torrential rain route was shortened to skibb dunmanway return. Conditions were just awful. The ROK was easier than cycling the 37 or so miles in the rain. Cycle started at about 11.30 after safety briefing. Roads were well marshalled with plenty of backup vehicles for those in need. Food stop was out of this world and would rival the ring of Kerry. On return to skibb we had a BBQ with plenty of booze. Later in the night we meet up for a skin full of pints music and yet more finger food. Rolled out of the pub at around 3am. A great day and night was had everything was top class meet some lovely people. A major thank you must go to Gary Minehan of the ambulance service and the other volunteers. I will be back next year without a doubt. 272 people cycled yesterday and raised over 32K for the various west cork based charities. Running costs were kept low with a huge community effort

Did it myself as well, agree with Cape Clear, big thanks to all & to the volunteers, the food stop in Dunmanway was unreal! Shame about the day, fingers crossed for next year!

Great event organisation. Dunmanway food stop was the best I've ever seen. Had a cuupa tea and some lovely salad sambos. BBQ at skibbereen was fantastic also. Had a can of Bulmers with my food to celebrate.... HOW IRISH !!!!

Fully agree with alls thats been said. Very unlucky with the weather but the booze and grub more than made up for it. Yep I'll be back again next year with better weather hopefully so we can complete the full cycle. :)
