Dental Treatment Abroad - Budapest

    Hi there
Just noticed all the posts re dental issues and for what it's worth I will tell you my story as it turned out so well.
Was in my late 40s and teeth had very bad appearance as well as many gaps between teeth which appeared eroded, discoloured and worried me a lot as to the condition but almost constantly spoke with my hand over my mouth or my smile was reluctant as I became increasingly self conscious of the discoloration and my appearance.
I had been quoted Eu17,500 approx to have the complete matter rectified and was told it could reach eu20,000. this was a bombshell even though I know my dentist is excellent. I was also told it could take many months to have repair, fillings, bridge, and all my teeth crowned.
while browsiing the net, one evening, I came across a site of a dental clinic in Budapest that I had read about in one of the Sunday papers. I made contact, their agent/contact is Irish and lives in Dublin and before I knew where I was, I had talked at length, went over for consultation and here I am eight months later, with perfect appearance and more confidence than ever. - well re my appearance anyway! My husband and children constantly remind me that I look so much better they can hardly believe it.
I had 22 crowns and a bridge for eu7,800. The treatment, hygiene and expertise was excellent. the accomodation was across from the clinic. Unfortunately, I had to travel alone, I made three trips in total but with so much dental work being done, it is better in hindsight to travel alone as I certainly was not in the form for the holiday side of things. the name of the clinic is Kreativ Dental and I would recommend it to anybody.
By the way, I cleared it with my dentist before I went and the clinic gave me xrays to bring home to my dentist. He was very pleased and understanding and was very happy with the work done but couldnt believe I'd had so much done in such a short time.

    Hi Blackrock,

I recently went to the dentist for a routine check up and was surprised when he told me that i'd need a root canal on my front tooth. Surprise turned to shock however when i returned a couple of weeks later for the treatment.. the infection was worse than first thought and my tooth had to be removed. I was fitted with a partial denture which while quite good was still a poor substitute.

I was told i could get a bridge but have found that implants are a much better alternative. I researched dental clinics in Hungary and the reviews just seem too good too be true! I have thoughts of going abroasd and receiving the treatment only for it to turn into a nightmare...

But people like you are making my mind up for me... Do you mind me asking if u had any implants done?

    Thank you
    Pat

    Hi Pat,

Like Blackrocks, I also used kreativdental . I had 3 implants and they were extremely good. I had my dentist check the work over and he was very impressed with the standard. I was also worried about having the treatment abroad, but the guarentee they offer is great and once your there and meet everyone in the clinic I simply forgot about most of my worries. I really would recommend these guys.

    Good luck with your treatment

    Wens

    Thanks Wendy

Do you mind if I ask how long your treatment took i total?
Is it true you have to wait 6 months between treatments?

Had treatment there, it was an absolute nightmare, please don't use this clinic...

    Here's my story:

I have known Kreative dental for the past 5 years & visited surgery way back when it was located over the mechanics garage… I travelled to your surgery this April to fix some lower front bridge work I wasn’t happy with. Kreative dentists informed me they couldn’t fix the bridge work immediately but I should consider an implant to the lower left mandible. I was very apprehensive about the procedure but after some encouraging remarks from the implantologist & dentist I decided to go ahead with the CT scan & eventual implant. I was under the impression at this stage that all work was guaranteed & in the unlikely event of anything going wrong I would be flown out to Budapest by Kreative to check the work. Nobody specifically pointed out to me that if something were to go wrong I would only receive 50% refund. If I had known this at the time, I wouldn’t have gone ahead with the procedure.

It was about three months after the implant that I started to experience problems, the implant area swelled up, so I visited Dublin Dental Hospital who prescribed antibiotics advising that this should clear up the infection. Unfortunately the swelling came back, I was prescribed more antibiotics & booked my flight to come back to see Kreative. After opening a flap in my gum the implantologist informed me that the implant had failed giving no specific reason & that it would be better to remove implant. The implant wouldn’t come out easily & the implantologist had to drill into either side of my jaw bone to remove the implant which was extremely uncomfortable.

I have now been informed that I will only receive 50% of what I originally paid for the implant which I find totally unacceptable. After all the time, effort, patience & cost I’ve invested. I feel I have been mislead into believing that the Kreative dental work is guaranteed when it clearly isn’t.

    ---

It's a scam, if anything goes wrong they won't pay for your travel back to Budapest or for your accomadation and you'll only get 50% of your treatment cost back... What a joke..
