Starter bike for wife, any ideas?

After many years and miles touring with me, wife has decided that time has decided to go solo! She is 5'3" - 5'4" and 7st 9lbs so not the heaviest not the tallest. She will be on a provisional for the bike.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions on a good starter bike for her. It needs to be reasonably light and low. She has had a run on a Kawasaki Eliminator 125 and was very comfortable with it; can't say I'm overwhelemed with the idea of a 125 single and can't see her, as she gets more experienced, being able to keep up easily.

Any suggestions on how to approach this problem of getting her some miles under her belt, through the test and moving up to a reasonable machine for a bit of touring?

I would recommend a Yamaha Dragstar 250. Much better build quality and finish than the Marauder series. Not the fastest things on the road but very reliable and they look cool. Lovely v twin engine.

yeah my missus has a 250 marauder (& she is nearing 6ft), its a nice little thing & not the most powerful so it is ideal to learn on & do your test on

What type of bikes does she like? If she has a type in mind it makes suggestions easier.

Not fussy as long as it is reasonably low and light. She was very impressed with the Kawasaki eliminator although we are having a look at the Suzuki. Anything similar to this.
BTW What is the orange one above, we might have a look at that.

It's a Suzuki DR200. does about a squillion miles per gallon, and you can ride it feet-up at about 1mph. Wife likes how easy it steers, due to upright riding position and wide bars.
