I also love Johnny Winter. Not sure about "crazy" but artists with similar music to his would be:

    Alexis Korner
    Buddy Guy
    Taj Mahall
Captain Beefheart (does his own slant on the blues but is an aquired taste. Crazy ?? - Definately)
Eric Clapton (especially his "From the Cradle" album)
    Ten Years After
    John Lee Hooker
    Roomful of Blues
John Mayall (his album featuring Eric Clapton is a classic)

I don't know much Johnny Winter stuff but I absolutely love "Check out her mama", thats one of my favourite songs. I listen to a lot of Stevie Ray Vaughan and the guitar playing on Check out her mama is very similar style to Stevie Ray Vaughan so maybe check him out too.
Pride And Joy, Texas Flood, Mary Had A Little Lamb and Honey Bee are some good tracks to get started with.

Johnny Winter is an incredible blues legend. :D

If you ever get a chance to see a guy called Derek Trucks, take it! He plays slide (like Johnny) but has the most incredible speed and technique. He's the son of Allman Brothers drummer Butch Trucks, and Derek plays regularly with the Allman Brothers Band as well as with his own Derek Trucks Band.
