hey any body thinking of buying a ps3 in america this summer i seen somewhere that there could be a price drop in circuit city in 2 weeks.

    http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?p=7983441#post7983441
That guy speedy seems to get the circuit city weekly circulars/flyers before they come out and posts up everything on them. It might not be true but it might be worth waiting to see.

you'll also notice while there that with the purchase of a blu ray player (including ps3) you can send away for 5 free blu rays. None of them are amazing but still free is free!

I know this doesn't apply to most people but if the price drops in america prob wont be long till it drops here

The price drop could just be a sale at circuit city and not an across the board price drop. We will find out soon enough though. They might announce something at E3 next week.

True, but i cant imagine a shop dropping the price of ps3 for a sale? maybe though.

I should mention that the free blu ray thing is an american & canadian offer only

I just read this on kotaku.com
    kotaku.com wrote:
Uh, huh? They're having a laugh! Sony President Ryoji Chubachi, chatting with reporters today about all things PS3, has denied any kind of price-cut for the console is in the pipeline, telling Reuters:

At present we have no plans [to cut the PS3's price].

This is great! Just when everyone else was ruling one out, Chubachi was saying they were planning one. Now that one seems almost certain, he rules it out (note he doesn't say "no comment", he specifically rules it out)? Leaves us with one of two options. On the left, Sony are a complete shambles at the top, and nobody's told him to keep his yap shut for another week. On the right, Chubachi is a funny guy, and he's been messing with us all along, just for ****s and giggles. I'd love to think it's the latter. But I suspect the former.
    [Reuters]

I dont see the logic in there arguement that i price cut is going to happen!?

This is promising though , taken from the same website

Apparently, a few branches of Target in the States have already cut the price.

Whenever a price cut comes, it's not much good unless there are games to back it up.

The lineup between August and Christmas is pretty packed. I don't think games are the problem, price is the key factor here. How many more people $499 will bring in remains to be seen, but they won't be wanting for content.

Rumour says yes, Sony says no. Hopefully there will be a price drop. It's the only way I'm going to buy one as I think It's way too dear at the moment.
