HMV are shocking when it comes to wrestling DVD's and Blu Ray's. I remember wanting the Hart FOundation set, and it retailed for £37!!! Outrageous. I bought it from Silver Vision for something like £15, and its even less on the site now!

Silver Vision are smart. It appears they realise online piracy is an issue, and to counteract some of that profit loss, they slash prices to increase sales and hold up profit margins. Personally, I've ordered a fair bit of Silver Vision solely due to their prices.

I'd like to get some of CM Punk's stuff from ROH. Is the ROH website the only place to get DVDs or can they be got elsewhere? A quick search on Amazon and Ebay isn't showing anything. Thanks.

It's been a while since I've ordered from ROH but they used to be really fast with shipping and occasionally have good sales.

There were 3 Best of CM Punk compilations released by them before, but I believe all are out of print now. I have Volume 2 & 3.

Recently they released the Summer of Punk set which would be a good buy. There's also the best of CM Punk in FIP dvd that you can get on amazon here:

Has anyone any info on the rumoured WWF - WWE settlement that allows the latter to use the old WWF Attitude scratch logo in archive footage? I assume it's no coincidence that there is an Attitude DVD due out later this year. It'd be great to see the original footage unedited.

As we reported a few weeks back in the PWInsider.com Elite section, WWE came to a settlement agreement with the World Worldlife Fund over WWE's usage of the WWF name and the scratch logo, which was one of the sources of the legal issues between the two sides that led to the name World Wrestling Entertainment being created.
Going forward, WWE will be able to use older archival material and footage with the WWF letters and the scratch logo. They cannot promote themselves or the material as WWF obviously but if they want to play footage of say, Wrestlemania 17 for example, they can use the footage, unblurred and allow that footage to use the name.

As the WWE Network comes closer to launching, WWE wanted the issue with their older footage squared away due to the amount of work and manpower it would take to blur years of footage.

Us Netflix is 7 dollars a month, if u are in Ireland you will be directed to Irish Netflix which is muck in comparison with the us one...

There are ways of getting the us Netflix here, but I'm sure you know about that...

When I was in the states last week they have a TON of wrestling stuff and docs...even as new as the latest edge DVD....was gonna buy the bobby heenan DVD till I saw it on Netflix then watched it and saved myself a few quid

Just google Unblock US or Playmo and it tells you how to get US Netflix.I watch it on my Xbox and it's a piece of piss to set up,even for an idiot like me!I've been using Playmo since it's been in beta and even though they say the charge $4 a month now I can still use it for free somehow!

I've been switching between the US,Canadian and South American versions lately.

US version obviously has all the WWE stuff,Canada has a fair amount of UFC content and the South American version has a few AAA/lucha shows.

All three nights of last weekend's CHIKARA King of Trios already available to ship on DVD and available to watch on Video on Demand or on MP4:

If you ever wanted to take a chance on a show download Night 1.

Ordered all the DVDs last night. How long roughly should it take coming from SMV? It's my first time ordering from them. I'll have to avoid spoilers in the meantime.

You have to love the quick turnaround time.

    They are pretty good.

My fingers and toes are crossed that you will get it before the weekend. As there is no worse pain.

I am downloading the first show at least tonight as waiting for stuff in the post is too stressful.

    VERY bad news.

Silvervision is on its way out!

    :(
After 22 years of dedicating Silver Vision exclusively to WWE, the WWE and Clear Vision Ltd will part company on the 31st December 2012. Silvervision.co.uk (owned by Clear Vision Ltd) will continue to sell WWE DVDs, Blu-rays and WWE films after this date while stocks last, but we will not be able to offer new releases for sale on our site. SummerSlam 2012 and nWo: The Revolution will be the last new WWE releases we will be producing ourselves.
Clear Vision and its staff are saddened by this news as we have worked very hard over the years to bring the best possible service to all WWE fans and we would like to thank you all for your continued support over the years.
Silvervision.co.uk is looking forward to a new future which will amalgamate all the products and some new programmes of its mother company, Clear Vision Ltd, on one site.
Please be assured this will not affect your current and future orders in any way and you will continue to receive the same great service.

I've never actually used Silvervision but was going to pre-order the Punk DVD from there.

Surely some other company will take over the licence for the UK as I doubt they'll force people to order from wwe.com in future.

There should be a good clearance sale coming up towards Christmas too.

They've basically been having a clearance sale for the last few months.

I've never had any problems with Silvervision over the years so its sad to see them go.

I'd say that's almost exactly what they'll do. After all, it didn't sound like SilverVision/Clear Vision had much say in the matter:

This is the worst news since the WWF name change in 2002 when the back catalogue was deleted. As bad as it is for the UK I'd say this will be worse for the rest of Ireland. I really cannot imagine WWE selling DVDs into the UK from the US so I assume they'll get a UK distributor. Ireland and Britain are considering the one distribution region meaning that when purchasing dist. rights both are included however, if they're intending on selling into supermarkets like they do in the US I doubt you'll be finding many WWE DVDs on the shelves in Dunnes, SuperQuinn or SuperValue. Maybe Tesco will pick them up but they still don't sell blu-ray while the UK Tescos does.

No more ordering off of SV.co.uk, paying in Sterling and getting the postage thrown in on top I'd say.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

Dont SV do more than just distribution in the sense that they also actually produce the region 2 dvds?

So if they are cutting ties surely they will need to get someone else to produce dvds for us.
Maybe they (wwe) weren't happy that they were selling the dvds so cheap so often?

Yeah SV were the official licensee so they handled production for the European market. I presume WWE will get a new licensee or producer.

    Might be releated: http://www.wwedvdnews.com/wwe-home-video-distributor-vivendi-sold/22577/

SilverVision have been selling DVDs cheap this year I'd say because they knew this was coming. Probably means the end of cheap DVDs either way.
