Somethings been bugging me lately, thought I'd share it.


Thanks to modern liberalism (all on board with that btw) everyone gets an opinion. Cool, go ahead, share you thoughts, express yourself, convince others, gather a cult of personality or whatever the hell.

What really pisses me off is when people take this and decide it means they can say whatever retarded idiocy they feel like and expect it to be treated as if it wasn't completely stupid.

Idiot: Well I think they're like the Nazis.
Me: But that makes no sense, their policies are nothing like the Nazis.
Idiot: Yeah well thats my opinion.
Me: Its a ridiculous thing to say.
Idiot 2: Hey shut up, he gets an opinion just like everybody else.

I don't know if this is just some weird thing that annoys me or if anyone else has noticed it.

To the inescapable posters who will start trolling along the lines of "Its just his opinion!" etc; I slept with your mother and she was terrible.

Agree that everyone is entitled to an opinion, and in your opinion they should be willing to explain how they arrived at it.

If they continue moaning in a Godwins-Law manner, then comment that of course they're entitled to an opinion, but that doesn't mean their opinion is worth anything.

Ah, but are they idiots? Explaining the basis of an opinion can break it down to something objective, which is not opinion at all.

They're like the Nazis. But in what way? If they mean that they wear similar shoes or enjoy goosestep, then you can explain that such things are not opinion, as they could be either verified or contradicted by evidence, reasoning or scientific experimentation.

Perhaps the "idiot" knows this. Perhaps they don't know that their reasoning definetely is flawed, but that it very well could be. And so they disguise it as opinion, thus staying one step ahead of you in the game. Zillah, you have been outwitted, by an idiot mastermind.

It also does not mean it is worthless either. An opinion's worth is decided by the listener/reader and as such no-one can call it truly worthless.
