Birds and bad luck?

Not even sure if this is the right place for this, but would be interested to hear opinions. Over the past few months or so I have had some “bad luck” surrounding birds.

- 2 have turned up close to death literally on my back doorstep (on separate occasions – I don’t have cats but I do think they were cat-related)
- On 2 occasions I have found a bird inside – once inside my own house, once in work. Both times I have managed to free them alive
- I knocked down and killed a pheasant last week (not a pleasant experience)
- Birds are living in my attic and waking me up at unearthly hours (not really “bad luck” but another example of the impact of birds on my life at the moment!)

So my question is – has anyone heard of any bird-related superstitions? I’ve heard the one about a bird indoors means a death in the family. The whole thing hasn’t been bothering me too much – it was just when a friend mentioned I was telling having bird-stories that I realised it was a weird few months bird-wise! Any thoughts?

Hmmm, it sounds more like birds are having bad luck with you! For the sake of the birds, stay away from them or we'll have none left
