We (myself and hubby) are heading to Tokyo for 10 days 14th sept - 24th sept. Going to book flights within next 2 days, cheapest is 833e each with virgin with usit which i think is great.(Cork - Heathrow- Tokyo) anyone know anywhere cheaper to try?
AND any ideas/tips what to do over there?? What not to miss.

Gadget shopping in Shinjuku, The imperial palace gardens and taking a trip on the shink. If you're there for 10 days what about a trip to Kyoto or around Mt Fuji?

That is a fantastic price, especially for Virgin. Usually they are one of the more expensive airlines.

One place you might try is Japan Travel Centre in London. They are usually very good. Don't know if they'll beat that USIT price though. Must remember to check that myself next time.

10 days is plenty to see a bit more of Japan besides Tokyo. The shinkansen to Kyoto is a great suggestion. Another place that's similar but not as far is Nikko. I really liked it there.

What things are you interested in?

I stayed in Sunnide Resort (its hotel/ryokan) a few months back and would highly recommend it (http://www.sunnide.com/). It is on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi and has amazing views of Fuji (when mist/clouds clear!!), they also have an outdoor bath overlooking lake/mountain. Its about 1.5 hours by bus from Shinjuku station, or 2 hours by train with 1 connection.

We flew with Virgin, it was €50 dearer than KLM/AF but worth it for in-flight entertainment alone. Booked it through Cheaptickets.com, was cheaper than virgins own site.
