we are 9 handed and blinds are 50-100, no reads as just moved to this table

player in 3rd position raises to 265 , i am in 5th pos and make it 700 with KsKh, its folded around to the original raiser who calls

    flop comes
    7d 9d 2d

my opponent checks, i bet 800 in to roughly a 1550 pot and then he raised to 4000

my questions are is my bet of 800 ok on the flop and should i call when he raises me

    Stack sizes?

    Original raiser is weak/loose/passive/aggressive?

I'm RRAI here. His bet size in 3rd position is unlkely to be AA, given his flop raise he doesnt have a set, my guess (seeing as you have KK) is QQ-1010 / Flush Draw.

But I guess you posted this cause you lost the hand ......

    i play for stacks here.

i think most of the time you'll be up against QQd/JJd/TTd/Adx and sometimes an underpair w/o a diamond. the size of the c/raise also leads me to beleive he's not particularly strong.

i bet around 1200 on the flop.

Yeh I'm happy to get it all in here(we only have 700 behind if we call right?) , there are lots of hands in his range that we are ahead of and he
doesnt play a flopped flush this strong.

edit: I might make it 850 to go preflop.

well i called and he had the 9h 9c and that was it

would people always be willing to play a big pot in this spot,

if it was a rainbow board would people be more inclined to bet for value or check behind on the flop as we are either a mile ahead or a mile behind and this would help us control the size of the pot with the risk of giving him a free card which may help him win the pot

id fold without the Kd in my hand, you are in really bad shape too often for it to be +ev imo.

i probly raise more p/f...... but on the flop, with how strongly he bet its very hard to put him on a hand thats beating u right now, it did look like a big diamond draw.....of course the other side to it is that he played it so strong to protect his set and keep u from calling with a diamond draw!!!!

i dont see u doing anything particularly wrong, maybe bet ur hands a little stronger, i.e. raise more p/f and bet flops stronger! maybe 1100-1250 here...

with no reads and knowing that ur ahead here alot its not a hand where i wud fault u going broke

I don't like your bet sizing.
I make it 800-850 pf and about 1200-1300 on the flop
As played, I push due to my lack of folding skillz
