I'm working on a site at the moment and would like to have a flash drop down menu system along the lines of the one at http://www.planet-f1.com but I can't seem to find a way to do it in Dreamweaver. Is it that difficult. Do I have to do it elsewhere and import it? All I'm looking for is a very basic menu system that looks good

    It would be tricky enough.
It looks like a CSS based menu. Examine their source code and also google these menus.

CSSplay.co.uk has many styles of CSS dropdown menus for free, some should suit your needs.

would like to have a flash drop down menu system
As stated above, the menu on the site you referred to is a CSS menu, not a Flash menu.

Check out CSSplay, or else jdMenu (http://jdsharp.us/jQuery/plugins/jdMenu/)
