    Hi everyone,
I have been told by a recruitment agency that a company I applied to for a job in May have asked to interview me (first interview is only by phone). The agency are bringing me in tomorrow to prectise interview techniques. This is my very first time applying for a "real" job so I am very nervous. I am just wondering would I need to dress up for meeting with the recruitment agency? Has anyone any advice for phone interviews?

    Thanks

    Nala

I Had to do this for the job i'm currently in now. I think the recruitment agencies are doing this just to make sure you are at least a suitable candidate and not someone chancing their arm.

Theres been a lot of problems with recruitment agencies sending unsuitable candidates for interviews with companies so this is just precaution that the recruitment agencies are taking as a result for the most part.

Mine was like a mini-interview where he asked me a few interviewish questions about my C.V. and work experience just to get a general idea of what i was like in the interview and gave me some tips on how to improve my answers and what i should expand on. They'll probably give you some company information which is usually worth a bit of a read.

As long as you don't come off as a complete plonker to them, they'll more than likely just be giving you information about the company and be making suggestions on what you should do and not do in the "Real" interview.
This is my very first time applying for a "real" job so I am very nervous.

It can be a bit nerve wrecking the first time alright. Try to relax as much as possible, make sure you arrive in good time for the interview as you'll be a million times worse if you're rushing to get there and you'll find it difficult to focus.

I would recommend looking professional for the interview(both of them). Not necessarily a suit but something that you are comfortable in.
