I have noticed a test transmission on 12.560 H, under the label "54006". It is in fact to be a ROI version of Setanta Sports 1.

The strange thing is I thought Setanta Irealnd was your Setanta Sports 1. Obviously not. You must get our Setanta Sports 1 and Setanta Ireland just like we do in the UK.

Now, it appears you are getting Setanta Sports 1 Ireland instead.

I don't suppose anyone knows the start date for this channel? Some programmes will be different to the UK version.

    Thanks for your hlep.

Setanta is advertising that they will show 79 matches next season with 33 Saturday 3pm matches which can't be shown on Setanta GB. They say that 12 matches will be on the Setanta Ireland channel whilst the remaining 67 matches will be on the Setanta 1 Ireland channel. The easiest way to accommodate the 3pm blackout in GB is to run 2 separate Setanta 1 channels.

    12 matches : Setanta Ireland (Saturday 3pm)
    21 matches : Setanta 1 Ireland (Saturday 3pm)
    46 matches : Setanta 1 Ireland (Saturday 5:15pm, Monday 8pm) - also available on Setanta 1 GB
    79 matches

Thanks for that. This channel has started transmitting. Can anyone tune this in and see whether there is a test card or programme?

    12.560 H
    SR 27500
    FEC 2/3
    Label: 54006

    It is blocked in UK.

What is it showing now? Thanks for your help.

I do believe it is illegal to show live football in the UK at 3pm on a Saturday.

It is a stupid rule but I can see why it is in place.
