The UK price for setanta package has gone down from £14.99 to £9.99 per month which is €14.80.So can some one tell me if Irish viewers will recieve the same offer! At the time of writing this its still €18 per month for this package??

If we dont its a disgrace plus we should be able to choose what channels ya want!!who in southern ireland wants rangers tv

    any word on multiroom deals??

Just looked at the Setanta site.
    Uk site - £9.99 a month
    Irish site - NI - £13 a month
    ROI - €18 a month

Nice to see them looking after their own..................

It could be because they have more live sport packages for the Irish market (eg Eircom League) and thus they are not reducing the price here ?

I suppose it depends on the reason for the price drop, if they drop it in another market cause it's not selling then they probably won't bother, how are subscription figures here ??? does anyone know ?

How many of you complained when Setanta cost less for Irish viewers? None. The UK is a different market price wise.

they were doing a half price offer on Saturday last only in The Irish Indo.

    still too dear IMO

Just rang Setanta (0818-203 040). They have no plans to reduce the price for ROI. She said that viewers in ROI have more channels (even though according to the website they are the same)....

RoI and GB have the same amount of channels. Setanta woman is talking ****. Some programs are blocked for GB and NI though but then GAA is blocked in RoI and NI, so not everyone see everything.

I believe Setanta will have more Premiership games in ROI than they have rights to in the UK (79 vs only 46 in the UK), so that might explain some of the price difference.... :p

Yes, you don't get the 3pm Saturday games if you're in the UK.

Still €18 a month is steep IMO.

    Yes.

    little worth watching in Summer.
    spend €9 and watch nowt.

When it's footy time again, might buy it (if games not on 13e or 19e)

Either way you have to get a 12 month contract.

I rang them and was told you don't have to commit to 12 months - it's month to month. Better check that again... I was planning to sign-up in August to give it a try.

Pains me to give my money to Sky - without them, players would probably still be happy to go out and kick lumps out of each other instead of driving their Bentley's!

YEs, they should have a choice of channels... I do think you should re-phrase your point though, who really wants Celtic TV? Rangers TV? They're both diabolical... I don't want the racing channels or the golf either, just Setanta Sports Ireland, 1 & 2 and NASN please... Not gonna happen though...

Anyone know anything about the setanta/adidas/dunnes stores offer where they give you two months free viewing. heard it advertised on newstalk. tried two dunnes branches to check it out but they had no literature on it. could be a good deal if they don't lock you in to a 12 month contract.

I heard the ad on radio today as well. Was in 2 different Dunnes over the weekend and no staff had heard of it and checked where the Addidas products and nothing there either.

Setanta marketing dept may have jumped the gun !!!!

Found it yesterday in Dunnes Jetland. To make it more difficult to find they don't have the deodorant with the other deodorants - it's around the corner from it by the babies car seats, bottles etc.

You have to text in to the number along with the barcode. Setanta should call back within 3 days. The reply to the text says to make sure to cancel after the two months free or else you'll be charged.

5h4mr0(k] for us poor souls who cant find the literature can you advise the number you have to text and the specific adidas product that you have to purchase. do you just text them the product barcode or do you need to send name/address/sky card number or other info....thanks!

I still haven't heard back from Setanta, so I don't know if I texted in the right barcode or not.

The deodorant is in packs marked 2 for €5 with a picture of Z Zou on it (says something about how it keeps him cool - should have had some on in the WC final then shouldn't he).

I'll try and find the bit off the wrapper with the full details. There was another thread where someone said last week that they had texted in and were waiting for the call back. I'll see if I can find that one and see if they've heard back.

Its a bit ridiculous having Zidane advertising anti perspirant.
He is one of the sweatiest players of all time.
The water just rolls off him even at the start of games.
Whatever he is using it aint working.

I wouldn't be worried how soon they call you back once you keep the initial automated text received from them on your phone. The longer they take the better so we can drag all of August and September out of it!:D

It actually says you have to cancel in writing too. Wonder what address one would write too!
