A bit of luxury in Tokyo!?

    Hi all,

I posted a while back about going to Tokyo, but the thread seems to have dissapeared .. so i'll have to start a new one!

Anyway, we've definitely decided to go to Tokyo for 3-4 days in November. We'll be staying in hostels in South America so wouldn't mind splashing out a little while in Japan.

Somebody previously recommended the Park hotel, but its a tiny bit out of our price range, esp if we're going to stay 4 nights. Does anyone have a suggestion for a nice hotel with a view? For perhaps 100 dollars a night?

    Thanks!

I stayed in the Metropolitan in Ikenuburo, It was about $80US a night, It was OK but I guess that is what you get in Tokyo for that kind of money.

Think it was me that recommended the Park Hotel. Don't think you'll find any "luxury" hotels in Tokyo for $100, we got a special on the Park for about €120 a night, it was def worth it.

You could stay in a nice Ryokan and just go up the TV tower or Tokyo metropolitan building for the views.....

I stayed here for about E100 a night for 2.

Our room was at the front which gave us views over a park towards the government buildings and Shinjuku. You can also walk to the main nightlife areas of Shinjuku which is very handy late at night. It is just a basic business-class hotel but I couldn't fault it. I believe the New Otani (sp?) also had some good deals for a few nights stay if you want a 4 star but it wasn't so well located.

Thanks everyone for your replies so far.

Jackbhoy, how did you find the location of the Park Hotel? (don't say a taxi :))
