Small, Micro, Mini, Little... What's the deal?

Hi All,

I've done a search and come up trumpless.

Anybody have any idea what is the generic name for those 1/2 size laptops that you see around. The ones about the size of a normal keyboard? I've been seeing them for years and always thought them to be too small and fiddly.

But now I'm plan on traveling and need to stay online regularly, so I need something really small, good battery life, wifi. 30GB HD is OK.

Are they called mini or micro or tablet or something? And might anybody have any ideas where a good comparrisson store might be found online? I've tried, but I may not be using the criteria for these liittle things.

Also, they have been around for years, are there many of these things available 2nd hand?

UMPC is the term your looking for .. that or "sub-notebook"

Asus are bringing out one for $200 ! apparently in 2 months (with a 4 gig flash drive up to $500 with a 32 flash gig drive)

do a search for asus + eee and you'll get an idea of whats its about,

or else there are a few UMPC sellers on ebay with good ratings and prices
