ok, I have an mpeg video. I want to edit in a .MOV video file, recorded froma digital camera into the mpeg video on my pc. When the scene (.mov) has been inserted somewhere in the mpeg video, I want to burn it to dvd, and be able to play it back on a normal, run of the mill dvd player.

What software would you recommend for editing, or will I need converters and such too?

any tips, hints or links very much appreciated.

edit: the .mov file wont import into windows movie maker, crashes in vista, and in xp get error about codec.

Eventually got what I wanted using a combination of RAD tools, and nero vision.
