So we get a very dramaric report on the millions of euro worth of drugs that was found after the smugglers dingy sank, but no mention of the larger ship they came from???

Well they only found out about the small boat when one of the crew ran into town for help. By the time they knew about the drugs, the larger boat would be long gone.

Afaik they use a GPS chip or whatever in the package. Then the small boat can pick up the package very easily.
