retune ntl box

    hi i have a ntl box which was being used in my old house was on digital through aerial on roof ive now moved and need to change the freq they broadcast on as my new house has cable i live in bray and need to retune the box to suit cable anybody know what the freq is thanks i know how to get into installer menu just need help

    Either find the default frequency from a true cable NTL box from someone else in Bray, or call NTL. Surely the latter would be much simpler?

    Would the box for cable and the one for MMDS not have different tuners? Just contact NTL/UPC. I don't think you can retune it as such.

    Nope, same tuners. But yeah - if the OP has a valid subscription he should just call NTL so..

    Network I.D cannot be changed via the service menu.
    You'll need to call NTL to get a suitable stb for cable.

    Nps. Btw, why do you need to do this yourself? I mean, I'm interested. Why would you not just call NTL and ask them to reflash / replace your STB like?!

    Was thinking the very same myself. Surely if you are moving to a new address, you would need to inform ntl and then they would organise a relocation for you.

    Maybe the OP wasn't aware that there is a difference between cable and MMDS stb setup.
