Might sound silly... is #boards still working and if so, what are the mIRC settings for it?

#boards is the chatroom that broke off from the closure of #boards.ie, most of the users gather about there. It is on irc.quakenet.org, create an AUTH with instructions here and join the channel. I think you need to send a private message to one of the ops to sort out access as well (though that may have gone away, dunno)

Those IRC'ers are like barnacles.

Server: irc.quakenet.org
Port: (default 6667,etc.)
Nickname,etc: User-specific(i.e. Choose whatever you want)


This need only be done once:
Create an AUTH (See: http://www.quakenet.org/ for detailed explanation & instructions)
Please post in the Access List thread withour IRC AUTH (Do NOT post your password. The AUTH will be blocked & you will have to register another,etc. *sigh* Really. Just the AUTH-name. Nothing else.)
We will confirm the addition of the AUTH to the auto-voice / access (+) list on IRC.

The easy part:
When you connect to Quakenet, identify yourself to Q (Again, see Quakenet instructions if you get stuck).
Then, /join #boards
