hi everyone, just wondering if someone can give me a bit of advice as I'm clueless with this stuff!! i have been invited with my partner to the afters of a wedding of a neighbour - just wondering what the done thing is with a gift for going to the afters. i know if it was a day invite you'd spend around 200e but whats the story with the afters? should you get a gift or a voucher or is a gift even given at all? thanks

In my experience, you would give a gift of about €50ish.

I'd agree about 50ish - Argos or Woodies are a good bet for vouchers - We got both from evening guests at our wedding and we really appreciated it. We moved into our first home the week before the wedding (I know we are mad) and the vouchers were a great help for the bits that you need :D

sorry for the delay in replying again, thanks for the responses. I was thinking of getting one of those buy 4 all vouchers for 50 euros and putting it in the card instead of an actual gift that they would probably never use. Is it definitly ok to give a voucher as a gift if going to the afters ya, and is 50e ok? I don't want them to think i'm stingy etc!!!
