How does one become a pro boxer?

I know the usual route from amateur to pro is a good am record, national title etc. But what if you're coming from pro muay thai or the K-1 and have an injury that prevents you kicking but you have a serious pair of hands. Surely those guys brought in to loose on eurosport can't all have been top amateurs?

Get in touch with a promoter and tell them your interested-they will only try to use you as a punch bag for up and coming future world champs-try the amateurs for 1-2 years and see if you can hack it, as boxers good hands are vastly superior to thai boxers good hands, if you believe then you can do it, go for it..pro does not mean your good, just means you get paid..

as far as i know its just a pro license that would be obtained by your manager, promoter or trainer-no big deal, most pro fighters have to leave ireland-thats why i never done pro boxing, missus would kill me!
