Sky+ Activating standard card in secondhand Sky + box

I got an offer of an updated sky+ box ( New 80/160G) from Sky and took it as my son was looking for a Sky+ box to replace his standard Sky box.
Got the new box up and running but now need to activate his card in my old Sky + box.. He has the Sky Sports package.. Problem is he has no phone line and we are going to use my phone to activate box.
We activated his present Sky box from my landline last year with no problems.
However now that we need to activate Sky + recording facilities, will Sky cop when I ring up that my land line has been used for two different Sky + boxes.. In other words can they see the phone number? ?? Any way I can block them seeing number ?? What is the method of matching his current sky card to the Sky+ box?
Can it be achieved thru the installers menu? ???

I could use another land line but problem at that address is there is only one
feed for the Sky box as its currently used for FTA channels.
Are both feeds required to activate the recording facility or will one feed be enough. ??
    Any advice gratefully received.
    Thanks again.

If anyone is interested the offer was headed " To thank you for being one of the first",. still cost me €140.

No need to use the phoneline, for activating Sky+ features in the old box. Just have your son's card in the old Sky+ box, and call Sky with his details, etc and request to have the card re-paired to the Sky+ box and have Sky+ features activated.

Problem is they usually ask for your phone number in order to identify box.
At least when I called to reinstate sports after installer left the other day the lady asked for my phone number. She then was able to access my account and details. Potential problem as I see it is if I give my phone number its not going to match sons address but will come up as mine.
I have discovered if one keys in 141 before dailing it will block my identity so that may be a way around it. it also depends who answers the phone at Sky as some are spot on and others dont seem to mind too much.
Going to try it this afternoon when he brings his current Sky card.
    Thanks for the advice.

Callbacks won't work with CLID disabled.

There should be no trouble for your son to have his existing card paired to the old Sky+ box. I've not had any problems doing this.

If his subscription is older than 12 months, he's not obliged to have a phoneline connected.

They just need his card details to determine his account.

Thanks for advice will call them next week, as I still need to install second feed for his sky + box, luckily made provision when standard box was installed.
    Thanks again.
