Well, its 7 weeks later but we finally mader it.We;re back in business here in the Cue Club and it feels gooooood!!
Not many things get me down but this was as close as it came. When I stood and looked at the wreckage on that fateful morning on May 9th,I honestly struggled to see a way back. But thankfully everything has fallen into place as we hoped, and the revamped and improved cue club has reopened its doors to the public as of this evening, Friday June 29th.

We as a family had to make sacrafices (my own included missing out on the Maccau and green joker festivals and making a strict rule not to go online until we re-opened) while working day and night to get this job done but the end result justifies it and I hope a lot of you get to see the results in the near future.

We appreciate all the kind comments and concerns our boards friends had for us when the news broke on the fire,(the reason I didnt reply then was because of my self imposed curfew) so on behalf of my wife Patricia, my son Derry and myself,we'd like you to know that your messages of support meant a lot to us and we thank all our friends here on boards. (Lplate was keeping us informed).

We opened fairly low-key because its like starting from scratch and little things were bound to be forgotten(I even forgot Mauds green tea!!).We do intend to have an opening weekend tourney to celebrate, but as a lot of my friends are in Vegas for the WSOP, we've decided to hold off until July so that they'll be home.
It should be in the 2nd half of July and I hereby extend an open invitation to the poker-boards community to come down to Killarney and celebrate with us if you have the time to spare.(date and details of tourney will go in the tournament section in the next few days). I'd be grateful to be advised of dates to avoid so we'll not clash with other tourneys.

Its nearly 5.30am.Theres still 2 full cash tables going in the club as I look out the office window.Nobodys talking about going home. Its great to be back to normal.
    Thanks all,
    Connie,Patricia and family.

I think August is a pretty lean month for poker tournies as things only pick up again with the restart of the EPT. You could have it the second weekend in August...

... ok, so I'm suggesting that because I'll be back on the 4th but it would give us all time to organise travel etc :)

    Hi Tom,
Sounds like a good idea to me. The 2nd week-end in August it is. Now before I put up details of the week-end,,any interested boarsters like to suggest a ME entry fee? 250 f/o 300 f/o 350 f/o?

My plan is to hold a 3 man team event on the Friday nite (€450 per team + 40 reg) and the ME being a singles tourney on Sat with a 45min clock and a 250/300/350/400 entry fee (depending on feedback).

Final table of main event may have to be played early on Sunday afternoon, depending on time.

All suggestions would be appreciated. I'll check it out locally with the punters while I hope boardsters will have a say.

    Cheers----Connie

I still havent had a chance to visit your fine cardrooms sir but I assure you I shall stop making excuses and do so in August. If you could make it so that I could play three games for 500 euro that would sound ideal.

I've been to the races on the long strand near Tralee on New Years Day and kissed a beautiful girl on New Years Eve down there (geographically speaking rather than phsyically) so am hoping that your tournament will live up to my expectations. (everything but the smooching)

You presume correctly sir. Now, perhaps you could tell me is there a pub between there and Tralee with a tree growing in the middle of it? The roof is build around it? I have a definite, if somewhat vague, memory of admiring it. Unfortunately I was very very drunk.

I recommend 250 but anything up to 400 is good! Like the idea of the team event too, well up for that!

That seems to be the view of the locals as well Tom, the ME will be €250(inc reg).So team event Fri (3 man team,€450 +€40 reg, Sat is main event, f/o €250 inc reg and Sunday a €100 or €150 f/o) .I,ll start checking hotels today for a decent rate and I,ll post details of tourneys on the events forum.

Thanks for the imput.Look forward to seeing ye .
